Draft for the owner's review; not legal advice. This page sets out the ground rules as intended, but it is not a lawyer's work. It must be reviewed before it goes live.

The app's licence

Lilt is free to download and use, but its source code, design, and documentation are all rights reserved. You may not copy, change, or redistribute them without the publisher's written permission. The third-party parts bundled with the app – the notation software, the fonts, the instrument sounds, and the libraries – keep their own licences, listed with their credits on the support page and in the app's Credits and About screen.

As is

Lilt is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Nothing here limits or excludes liability where the law does not allow it. In particular, liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence cannot be excluded, and it is not excluded.

Tunes from TheSession

Tunes you import from TheSession (thesession.org) are shared under the Open Database Licence (ODbL). Lilt ships none of that data: tunes are fetched when you ask, kept only in your own library, and each keeps its TheSession link as its source.

Tunes you import and share

You are responsible for the rights to the tunes you import, keep, and share from Lilt. For example, you must be entitled to copy and pass on any copyrighted settings, and anything you export must respect the licence of its source. Traditional tunes vary: many are out of copyright, some are not, and Lilt cannot tell which is which.

Accessibility

Lilt aims to be usable by the musicians who need it, with readable type at small sizes and a dark theme for low light. If something in the app gets in the way of your playing, please tell support@lilttunes.com. Access reports are treated as defects.
